I'm Evan Bacon. I build software in San Francisco, CA. I'm a distant cousin of Kevin Bacon, but I can't do any of the dances.

Previously, I was a founding engineer at Expo for 9 years (2017-2026). My goal was to make it easy for anyone to build and deploy native apps.

I authored Expo Router (first file-based router for native apps), Expo CLI, Expo for web, expo prebuild, API routes, and led development of Expo Agent.

As a teenager, I worked as the Design Technologist on the SiriusXM 360L in-car and mobile experiences. Before software development, I was an award-winning Lego artist, specializing in life-sized sculptures.

I built my first Lego sculpture––a life-sized Batman––when I was 13 years old. Batman was debuted at the first Lego conference in my hometown of Austin, TX––Brick Fiesta. I continued building sculptures and teaching myself how to build apps throughout my teenage years.
